Le village de Roussillon est connu à travers le monde, pour avoir le plus grand gisement ocrier. L’ ocre est cette pierre argileuse que l’on retrouve partout dans ce colorado provençal. Elle peut être de différentes couleurs du j’aune au rouge. Et c’est ce qui fait de cet endroit un spectacle de la nature qu’ on ne voit vraiment pas souvent. De magnifiques falaises oranges, des rochers rouges, tout ça enveloppé de verdures, des champignons géants, des lions de mers mais là de terre…bref vous l’ aurez compris on voit pas ces couleurs tous les jours dans la nature. Point important et j’ en suis désolé par avance, si vous êtes daltonien… dans ce cas je sais pas si le spectacle vous impressionera autant que les autres et donc si ça vaut le coup de payer la visite. Car oui l’entrée est payante, le prix fort par personne est de 2,50 €, encore moins si on est en groupe et encore moins voir gratuit si on a moins de 10 ans. En conclusion pour 2€50 on peut se croire aux states, mais en mieux car à l’opposé de la vallée de la mort, Roussillon fourmille de vie par son village typiquement provençal. Petit village où tous les murs colorés nous rappelle… ben l’ ocre justement 
Miasteczko Roussillon znane jest na całym świecie, słynie otóż z największych złóż ochry. Ochra to skała bogata w związki żelaza, wykorzystywana jako naturalny, nieorganiczny pigment o barwie od żółtej do brązowej. Dlatego też Roussillon nazywane jest Prowansalskim Kolorado. Przepiękne pomarańczowe wzgórza, czerwone pagórki, żółte urwiska, bursztynowe ścieżki a wszystko otoczone zieloną naturą- naprawdę nie na co dzień można natrafić na takie widoki. Jeśli zachwycają was takie cuda natury, trzeba przygotować się na niewielkie, ale koszta- tak, złoża ochry stały się atrakcją turystyczną, a do wyboru są dwie trasy- półgodzinna i godzinna. Wejście kosztuje 2,50€ , zniżka obowiązuje grupy a dzieci poniżej 10-ciu lat zwiedzają za darmo – więcej informacji na oficjalniej stronie Roussillon. W skrócie: 2,50€ aby poczuć się jak w Stanach, a nawet lepiej bo w przeciwieństwie do Amerykańskiej Doliny Śmierci, Roussillon tętni życiem. Wszystkie mury, budynki, domy tego miasteczka przypominają nam… no właśnie tamtejszą ochrę
The village of Roussillon become famous worldwide thanks to its biggest in the world ochre deposit. Ochre is a natural earth pigment containing hydrated iron oxide, which ranges in color from yellow to deep orange or brown. That’s the reason why Roussillon is also called the Provencal Colorado ! Absolutely beautiful orange hills, red rocks, yellow cliffs and all this surrounded with greenery… we simply are not used to see that colorful views every day. The place became quite touristic, so to have a tour you must pay 2,50€, then it’s cheaper for organized groups and it’s free for children under 10- you can get more information on the official we site of Roussillon. To recap, it takes 2,50€ to feel like in the US, or even better, as Roussillon is much more bustling with life than the Death Valley. P.S. : En quittant Roussillon pour se rendre à Gorde nous avons traversé un pont chargé d’ histoire. Le pont Julien, construit sous l’ ordre de Jules César « himself » entre 27 av JC et 14 ap JC. En gros plus de 2000 ans. On fait moins les fiers maintenant avec nos TV qui tiennent pas 3 ans. Oui je dénonce 
P.S. : Wyjeżdżając z Roussillon w kierunku Gorde, o którym niedługo napiszemy, natrafiliśmy na naprawdę historyczny most. Most Julien, wybudowany na rozkaz samego Juliusza Cezara w 3 roku p.n.e, za czasów kiedy region Vaucluse został przyłączony do Cesarstwa Rzymskiego, czyli teraz ma on już ponad2000 lat – to dopiero solidna budowla !
P.S. : Leaving Roussillon, and on our way to next village Gorde, we found a real treasure of history. The Julien Bridge was built under the order of Julius Caesar himself in 3 BC- so it’s been more than 2000 years now and it’s still that solid, wow!
